Having a home visit
Why is it necessary to visit your Home?
A feasibility visit is necessary before we can specify the exact stairlift which is most suitable for you and your home. The surveyor will need to check the shape of your stairs, where the seat would park at the top and bottom, and whether there are any obstructions to overcome.
Is a home visit safe?
Freelift would never visit you at your home unless you request us to do so, and because we take your security and peace of mind very seriously, we arrange the date and time of any visits to suit you, and are only too happy if you have a friend, relative, neighbour or carer there with you on the day. Rest assured that with Freelift you will be treated with the utmost courtesy throughout the appointment. And remember, there is no obligation to buy.
What will the surveyor do during the visit?
Our trained surveyor will carry out some feasibility measurements on your staircase and check for any potential obstacles, eg radiator, doorway. He or she will assess whether a straight or curved stairlift will be most suitable, taking into account your requirements. They will advise you about the lift, how it’s installed, how it works and answer any questions you may have. They will give you a firm price on the day for a stairlift which meets your needs; we do not sell any unnecessary extras.
What happens next?
It’s entirely up to you…
If you decide to go ahead on the day, our surveyor may need to do some further measuring on your stairs, depending on whether you decide on a straight or curved lift. He/she will show you the choice of colours for your seat and rail, and help you complete the order form and VAT exemption certificate.
Or, we will simply leave the quotation and paperwork with you, and give you time to think about whether or not you wish to proceed with an order.
